Lionweld Kennedy Safegrate open bar grating comprises of a series of parallel flat load bearing bars stood on end. They are held upright at regular spaced intervals by 9mm dia round transverse bars that pass through them and are spot welded to one side. This design provides a high lateral restraint suitable for vehicle loadings and ensures that the load bearing bars will not flip over due to the braking and acceleration forces the grating will be subject to.
Safegrate can be manufactured up to 3m in length and in standard panel widths up to 1.1m. Full fabrication of tailor made panels to suit client’s requirements is also available.
Safegrate is available with load bearing bars at 20mm, 25mm, 33mm and 40mm centres with thicknesses of 5mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm. Load bearing bars are available from 25mm to 100mm deep as standard. Transverse bars are supplied at 150mm centres as standard.
Safegrate is available in mild steel grade S275JR to BSEN 10025, galvanised to BS EN 1461 or stainless steel with a mill finish.
